Larry and Pat Isom celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 14, 2014. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple. Pat was born in Cedar City, Utah and moved throughout the states with her family from New York, Michigan and Logan. She also spent five years in Iran while her father ran a team of educators in a United States aid mission. She graduated from an international high school and came back to Utah to attend Utah State University.
Larry was born in Murray, Utah and moved with his family to Hurricane, Utah where he graduated from high school. He attended an LDS mission to the Great Lakes area and upon returning, he met Pat and dated her for a year and they married. Larry joined the Air Force after being drafted and spent a year in Viet Nam. He then got a commission and was stationed in several states including Alabama, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Ohio and finally retiring after 22 years of service at Hill AFB, Utah.
Pat attended Weber State University and earned a Masters degree in English and Larry earned a Masters degree in Public Administration from BYU. Larry is currently employed at Pro Pac Labs, a health food supplement manufacturing company.
Pat likes to visit with family and friends, reading, collecting figurines, teaching, cooking and shopping. Larry has spent over 40 years working in the scouting organization and loves wood working, shooting guns, fishing and vintage cars. They have two daughters and two sons as well as twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
