The children of Kimball (Kim) and Shanna Baker Vaughn wish to announce their parents golden anniversary.

Kim and Shanna were married in the Salt Lake Temple on December 29, 1966 while Kim was a young soldier destined to serve in the Vietnam War and Shanna was a cosmetologist. They were high school sweethearts.

Shanna asked Kim to the girls dance at Weber High in November of 1961. She asked him to another high school dance in April of 1962. Finally, after dating for six months, Kim got the guts to ask Shanna out on a real date. They've been dating now for 55 years and Shanna still does most of the asking.

Shanna's sophomore English teacher told her that she should date other people because that Kim kid wasn't a very good student.

They are the proud parents of six children: Jason and Melanie, Ethan and Danielle, Sam and Dana, Peter and Frances, Kittie and Lyle Peacock and Anna Vaughn. They have 28 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

They celebrated their 50th anniversary with their children at a local restaurant.

Married for 50 years, so there Mr. Morton!
