Happy 50th Anniversary!: John and Susan Brockbank

John K. and Susan Calderwood Brockbank celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were sweethearts at the old Weber High School and were married November 22, 1967, in the Logan LDS Temple.

John graduated from Weber State University in 1970. He flew KC 135 aircraft in the U.S. Air Force from 1970 to 1975, and then he flew helicopters in the Utah, and Colorado National Guard. He studied aeronautics at Utah State University. He retired from the military and civil service in 2008.

Susan graduated from Weber State University in 1983, and then taught English and reading in Weber County Schools for 27 years.

They served together in the Rochester, New York Mission in 2012. From 2013 to the present, they have served at Camp Zarahemla in Liberty, Utah, and are currently serving in the Ogden LDS Temple.

They have four living children: Marisa (Tom) DeGarlais, lives in West Haven; Jennilyn (Tim) Tillotson, lives in North Carolina; Wyatt (Shayna Widdison), lives in Iowa; and Elena (Josh) Madsen, lives in Nebraska. They have 15 grandchildren.

John enjoys rock climbing and playing "wacketball" with friends, sailing, and camping with Susan and anyone else who wants to join in. Susan enjoys riding with John on their tandem bicycle. She keeps and writes family histories, gardens and sews a bit. She treasures family and friends.
