Jozef and Elizabeth Evenhuis of Ogden will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on February 26, 2018. They will celebrate on March 3, 2018, at the LDS meeting house, 300 Gramercy Avenue, Ogden, UT, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
They were married, on February 26, 1948, in Groningen, Holland. Their vows were later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on July 30, 1963.
Jozef was born in Groningen, Holland, on April 28, 1922. He brought his wife and oldest son, from Holland to the United States in 1952, first settling in Salt Lake City. After moving to Ogden, he worked for the Ogden City School District for 20 years, retiring in April 1983. His interests include walking, reading, and watching soccer.
Elizabeth was born in Groningen, Holland, on June 8, 1926. She worked for IHC McKay-Dee Hospital for 32 years, retiring in April 1987. Her interests include Puzzles, reading, and spending time with family.
Both are active members of the LDS Church. They served a two-year mission in the Ogden LDS Temple.
Their children and their spouses are: Ben and Judy Evenhuis, North Ogden, Utah; and Hank and Tina Evenhuis, Slaterville, Utah. They have nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
