Happy 50th Anniversary!: Larry and Susan Kirkland

Larry and Susan Kirkland are celebrating 50 years of marriage on March 1, 2018. Larry and Susan love each other and their love will last forever. Their greatest treasures are their five children: Sharon Kirkland (deceased), Pamela Kirkland, Jeannie Smith (Mark Smith), Cori McConkey (David McConkey) and Cody Kirkland; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Larry is an efficient technical lead electronic engineer having received many honors and awards over a 52 year career. During his long and auspicious Air Force career, Larry's exceptional technical expertise, process improvements and innovations were acknowledged by receiving a USAF Suggester of the Year, USAF Programmer of the Year Award, USAF AFMC Senior Engineer of the Year Award, USAF AFLC Lead Engineer of the Year Award, USAF Four Star General's recognition for "A Remarkable Performance in Providing Combat Support to the Warfighter" and USAF Commander's recognition for "Exceptional Technical Expertise."

Larry received recognition for process improvements from President's Jimmy Carter and Gerald R. Ford. Larry received the IEEE Walter E. Petersen Award for new Technology (Functional Machine Based Intelligence), IEEE Award "Using Neural Networks for ATE", IEEE Award for ATE Future Concepts, etc. He has a patented Neural Engineering Utility with Adaptive Algorithms.

During Larry's work for industry, he has received IEEE awards of merit and served as a Technical Program Chair. Larry has numerous published papers at Test, Software Technology and AI conferences and in IEEE Engineering Magazines and elsewhere.

Susan raised five children. Susan has been the PTA President at Horace Mann School, worked for Ogden City Schools, and is a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Larry and Susan love our Heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and have unshakable testimonies. Larry and Susan have always been active in church callings. Their marriage has been solemnized in the Temple for Time and all Eternity. Larry and Susan are very kind and thankful for the many blessings in their lives.
