PLAIN CITY — Andrew West hit a three-run double on a 3-2 pitch with two outs in the top of the seventh, and Jake Porter denied Fremont in the bottom of the inning as Northridge won 4-3 Tuesday to open a three-game series.

Northridge’s big seventh inning was set up by a single from Dakari Armendariz and walks from Ethan Udy and Jacob Rhoades, loading the bases for West who doubled on the seventh pitch of his at-bat.

A walk to Haze Hadley loaded the bases for Fremont with two out in the bottom of the seventh, but Porter ended the game with a strikeout.

The two teams traded runs in the first inning. Udy homered to lead off the game and Tyler Clark scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the inning.
