Prep Hoops Roundup: Fremont, Bonneville, Morgan girls all stay unbeaten

FREMONT 51, SYRACUSE 33

SYRACUSE — Fremont led 25-16 at the half and cruised to victory at Syracuse to stay perfect in region play.

Emma Calvert scored a game-high 19 points to lead Fremont (14-2, 7-0 Region 1) and Abby Broadbent added 12 points on four 3-pointers.

Paityn Williams scored 14 points and Kendree Hamblin netted seven for Syracuse (4-11, 0-7).

BONNEVILLE 37, TOOELE 33

TOOELE — Bonneville (11-4, 6-0 Region 11) took over sole possession of first place in Region 11 by beating Tooele (9-6, 5-1 Region 11) on the road after trailing 15-14 at halftime.

The Lakers outscored the Buffaloes 15-9 in the third quarter as part of the victory, which was their 10th in a row.

Jenna Czarnecki scored a game-high 19 points on five 3-pointers to lead Bonneville. Saydee Larsen added seven points and Karly Conolly had five.

MORGAN 70, JUDGE MEMORIAL 52

MORGAN — Morgan outscored Judge 25-8 in the third quarter to take control in the region contest.

LisaBlazzard led the Trojans with 15 points. Marcie Stapley scored 14 points with 12 rebounds, Jaci Jensen netted 13, and Kayden Jorgensen added 11 points for Morgan (9-9, 4-0 Region 13).

DAVIS 54, WEBER 42

PLEASANT VIEW — Davis spotted Weber a 10-2 lead after one quarter, then outscored the Warriors 52-32 the rest of the way to grab a region road win.

Teuila Alofipo led all scorers with 14 points for Davis (8-8, 2-5 Region 1). Sydni Oviatt added 13 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for the Darts.

Paige Aardema led Weber (9-7, 3-4) with 12 points while Taylor Morris added 11. Yira Yoggerst and Bridget Triplett each had seven rebounds.

BEN LOMOND 57, PARK CITY 30

OGDEN — Ben Lomond held Park City scoreless in the third quarter en route to the Scots’ first region win.

Nicole Dominguez led all scorers with 19 points for Ben Lomond (3-9, 1-5 Region 11). Taylor Abbott scored 12 and Andie Boothe added 11 points.

Park City (0-15, 0-6) remains winless.

STANSBURY 62, OGDEN 42

STANSBURY — Ogden led Stansbury 14-11 after the first quarter, but Stansbury outscored the Tigers 51-28 over the final three stanzas.

Aleah Knowles scored 13 points and Makin Clarke added nine for Ogden (2-12, 2-4 Region 11).

BOUNTIFUL 76, ROY 56

BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful outscored Roy 28-9 in the second quarter on the way to the region win.

Brig Willard led Bountiful (7-8, 1-0 Region 5) with 18 points and Jaxon Wood added 13.

Alex Lamb scored 18 points with two 3-pointers for Roy (4-11, 1-1). Alex Holley netted 12 points.

NORTHRIDGE 53, CLEARFIELD 40

CLEARFIELD — Northridge outscored Clearfield 29-16 in the second half to break a 24-24 tie for the region road win.

Alec Duffin led Northridge (7-8, 3-2 Region 1) with 13 points and five boards, while Matt Goodrich added 11 and Jovonte Wyllie scored 10.

Devon Poll scored a game-high 14 and hauled in seven rebounds for Clearfield (4-10, 0-5). Grayson Banks added 10 points.

SYRACUSE 61, FREMONT 60

SYRACUSE — Brock Gilbert nailed an 18-footer with five seconds left to lift Syracuse over Fremont.

Gilbert had a game-high 21 points, including three 3-pointers and 13 assists for Syracuse (8-7, 4-1 Region 1). Kingston Williams added 13 points and Austin Kirkman had 11 rebounds.

Baylor Harrop scored 14 points and Cade Hadley had 12 for Fremont (11-4, 3-2).

VIEWMONT 65, WOODS CROSS 46

WOODS CROSS — Viewmont outscored Woods Cross 16-8 in the third quarter to cement the region road win.

Josh Mordue scored a game-high 19 for the Vikings (6-10, 1-1 Region 5). Kason Chowen added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Mason Cowley had 13 points to lead Woods Cross (5-12, 0-2). Jake Howe netted 12 and Dax Gorringe added 11 points and six rebounds.

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 95, ST. JOSEPH 23

OGDEN — Layton Christian led St. Joseph 52-14 at the half in the region blowout.

Braxton Meah led Layton Christian (11-8, 5-0 Region 16) with 20 points.

Gavin Andersen scored eight to lead St. Joseph (2-14, 1-5).
