Mary Roskelley Carruth celebrated her 90th birthday with her family this last week. She was born July 19, 1924 in Brigham City, Utah to Charles Ora and Laura Lovendale Roskelley. Her family later moved to Salt Lake City where she graduated from East High School.
While her father was stationed at San Luis Obispo, California she met a serviceman, Frank B. Carruth. After the war, he found Mary attending BYU and renewed their acquaintance. Frank and Mary were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on October 8, 1947 and together raised four children: John (Susan) Carruth of San Jose, California, Barbara (Gene) Aaberg of North Ogden, Utah, Laura (Randy) Browne of Ogden, Utah and Kelley (Garth) Martin of Harrisville, Utah. They enjoyed over 66 years together before Frank passed away in April 2014.
Mary retired from the McKay Dee Hospital where she worked as a medical technologist. Through the years she has enjoyed her association with friends in her sewing club, book club and Daughters of Utah Pioneer Camp. She has served in several callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Her most prized possession, her family, includes 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren with a set of twin great-grandsons on the way.
