The children of Cleone Bateman Battisti will host an open house to celebrate her 90th birthday. The event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on January 15, 2017 at Ligori's Pizza, 4780 Old Post Road in Ogden. No gifts.
Born on January 15, 1927, in Ogden, to Beatrice and Arthur L. Bateman, she married Guiseppe "Joe" Battisti, an Italian prisoner of war. He died on February 19, 1974.
They have eight children, five sons and three daughters: Joe and Corinne Battisti, Canyonville, Oregon; Michael and Janet Battisti, Ogden; John and Zaundra Battisti, Harrisville; Paul Battisti, Ogden; Mario "Jim" Battisti, Ogden; Virginia and Carter Volle, Vail, Arizona; Cathy and Glen Leavitt, Lewistown, Montana; and Dina and Jay Wells, Pleasant View.
She has 37 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren. One grandson and one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson are deceased.
Her interests are, first and foremost, her family. She enjoys cooking, playing pinochole with her son and friends at the Golden Hours Center and watching her family and friends bowl Friday nights at Ben Lomond Lanes.
She retired as a school cook at Grandview Elementary and is a member of the Union Pacific Old Timers and the Golden Hours Center.
