Carol was born in her grandmother's home (Bethia Gustaveson Anderson) in Grantsville, Utah, on March 9, 1937.
She was the third child (Don, Lorraine, and Carol) of Marcus J. and Mary Louise Goldwater. Her mother died when she was only one year old; consequently, she was raised by her uncle and aunt, Al and Mae Gustaveson. They lived in Tooele until she was 13, and then they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah. Her father (Marcus) later remarried (Lilly). Carol stayed very close to her father, stepmother, brother and sister her entire life.
She married Robert Kay Nelson on September 7, 1954. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. They moved to Layton, Utah, in the late 50s where they still currently live. They have been married for over 60 years and have five children: Danny (Deanne), Bobby (Lilly), Susan (Kim), Craig (Kathy) and Rusty (Michelle). They have 22 grandchildren and (almost) 20 great-grandchildren.
Carol has always been faithful to the LDS church where she and Kay served two missions: one in Tucson, Arizona, and one locally in Utah. She has served in many church callings during her life (too many to list). She has always worked hard to teach her family the values of the LDS church. She enjoys serving in the church and in her community.
After raising her five children, she worked several jobs including B&B Department Store, IRS, First Security Bank and Wells Fargo Bank. She loves playing the accordion, piano and organ. She has always enjoyed traveling, camping, needlework, genealogy and spending time with her friends and family. She will be celebrating her birthday with friends and family on Sunday, March 12, 2017. Thanks for all the love and support you've provided during your lifetime.
Happy Birthday Mom! We All Love You!
