The family of Barbara Ann Chase Richins is pleased to announce her 80th birthday! A family dinner will be held at Maddox to celebrate the occasion.
Barbara was born on May 18, 1937, in Los Angeles, California, to Harold and Jewell Chase. She lived in Alhambra, California, until she was eight years old.
At that time, she moved with her family to Ogden, Utah. She graduated from Ben Lomond High School and LDS Seminary in 1955.
She married her high school sweetheart, Nolan C. Richins, in the Salt Lake Temple on November 18, 1955. He is her greatest support and blessing.
They have four wonderful children: Bruce (Ann) Richins, Lynda (Dave) Johnson, Todd (Dawn) Richins, Christy (Mike) Koford. There are 13 amazing grandchildren and 14 adorable great-grandchildren.
They raised their family in Roy, and still enjoy living there after 54 years. They love their Sunday evening gatherings with their family and look forward to them each week.
Barbara was employed at ZCMI. in Ogden for 20 years, and retired in 1997. Those years were very enjoyable for her and she made many friends while she was there.
Barbara is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has served in a variety of callings over the years, including: Relief Society Secretary, Counselor, Primary President and Librarian.
Barbara received a kidney transplant in November 2004, which has been a tremendous blessing for her and her family.
