He served a two year LDS mission in 1950, in the Swiss-Austria Mission. In 1957 he immigrated to America with his parents, settling in SLC, Utah.
In the spring of 1960, Jacob returned to Switzerland to marry his sweetheart, Rosmarie Deck, in the Swiss LDS Temple.
They returned to Utah, and for many years he worked with his brothers, remodeling and building beautiful homes, cabinets and furniture.
They are the parents of five children, 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Jacob enjoys serving others and served faithfully in many church callings through out his life. He and Rosmarie served three LDS Temple missions - twice to the Freiberg, Germany Temple and once to the Swiss Temple. He has served as a Temple Ordinance Worker for many years and is currently a Sealer in the Ogden Temple.
