LAYTON -- Dozens of local businesses picked up awards at the Standard-Examiner Readers’ Favorite recognition event at the Davis Conference Center.

Spanning 42 categories, 127 northern Utah businesses were tabbed as readers’ favorites in the Wednesday night gathering, said Standard-Examiner marketing assistant Summer Green.

About 8,000 ballots were cast over six weeks via an online voting system, Green said. The top three vote-getters per category were eligible to receive Readers’ Favorite status. The first annual award dinner was attended by 31 of the winners, Green said.

The Readers’ Favorite contest was formerly known as Tops in the Top.
