ROY — A 20-year-old Roy man was arrested and charged with one count of rape Thursday, Feb. 9.

William Alexander Torres-Orellana was taken into custody by Roy City Police Department and booked into the Weber County Jail. Formal charges were filed Monday, Feb. 13.

Court documents say the Weber County Attorney filed the first-degree felony charge after the victim, who is a minor, came to police in January after an incident with Torres-Orellana.

The two were in a vehicle at a Roy park when the victim said Torres-Orellana pressured her to the point of performing oral sex on him. He then pulled her onto his lap and forcibly had sex with her, despite her repeatedly asking him to stop, according a summary of a police interview with the victim.

Court documents also show text messages from after the alleged incident in which the suspect admitted to having sex with the victim and acknowledged the victim was telling him to stop. He also apologized to her.

The Standard-Examiner does not identify possible victims of sex crimes or report details that would reveal a potential victim’s identity.

Roy police detective Josh Taylor said Torres-Orellana was taken into custody without incident. Bail was set at $21,000, according to the jail website.
