SOUTH WEBER -- A week of entertaining events will culminate in a fun-filled day at Central Park to mark South Weber Country Fair Days, Aug. 2-9.

The city festival kicks off on Saturday, Aug. 2, with a golf tournament, baby contest and Little Miss Pageant. Eat a chuck wagon dinner in Central Park, 7355 S. 1375 East, at 6 p.m. Monday ($6 or $30/family of 6) and then play Let’s Make a Deal. On Tuesday, there will be a 3 on 3 basketball tournament.

Bring the kids to a fun run at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday and watch the old-timers baseball game at 7 p.m., followed by a screening of “The Princess Bride” at 9:15 p.m. On Thursday, a Little Buckaroo Rodeo will be held at 6 p.m. at the Posse Grounds, 475 E. 6650 South.

Gather a team of three women and three men to compete in an “Anything Goes” competition Friday at 6 p.m. Contestants are encouraged to dress in Wild West-themed costumes and come prepared to get wet, dirty and have fun. Register online by Aug. 1 or until slots are filled.

Saturday, Aug. 9, will pack the biggest punch of fun, starting with a 7 a.m. 10K/5K/2-mile run/walk at Cherry Farms Park. Aug. 1 is the last day to register online for $15, or register the day of the race for $30. At 11 a.m., watch the parade wind down South Weber Drive from 2100 East to 1250 East near Central Park.

Spend the rest of the day at the park enjoying a classic car show, live music and dance, eating contests, the South Weber Idol finals, a Wild West-themed team competition for youth, a candy drop and vendor booths. A fireworks show begins at dusk, followed by a youth stomp at the Family Activity Center, 1181 E. Lester Drive.
