Summer is in full swing, and the weather will be perfect for your and your family to get out and sample the events around the state. Here are a few things going on around Utah this weekend.
The 34th annual Logan Summerfest will feature over 150 artists, performers and food vendors. This well-known event will have a little bit of everything and will surely be fun for everyone in your family. Around 60,000 people attended last year’s event, so be sure not to miss the Cache Valley’s favorite summer kick-off event.
When: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Thursday and Friday, June 15-16; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, June 17
Where: Tabernacle Square, 50 North Main St., Logan
This fundraiser in Salt Lake City will donate all proceeds to the Danielle Byron Henry Migraine Foundation, a group that aims to increase public awareness of migraine disease and its impact on patients, their families, and society. Auctions will take place during for the event for vacation packages, including a vacation Cabo San Lucas or going to Los Angeles for the Ellen Degeneres Show.

Where: Gallivan Center, 239 S. Main St., Salt Lake City
Olympic Day is a world-wide event that celebrates the Olympic values of fair play, perseverance, respect and sportsmanship. This is a family-friendly event that will have appearances by local Olympians, music, activities, face painting and crafts. Ice skating times will also be available, as well as demonstrations by professional figure skaters and speed skaters.
When: 6-9 p.m., Friday, June 16
Where: Olympic Oval, 5662 South 4800 West, Kearns
Cost: Admission is free, $3 for ice skate rentals
Leave the kids at home and prepare to laugh during comedian Pablo Francisco’s shows in downtown Salt Lake City. This world-famous comic is known for his incredible impressions and rapid-fire comedy. Francisco will have two performances each night.
When: 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday, June 16-17
Where: Wise Guys Comedy Club, 194 South 400 West, Salt Lake City
This outdoor dinner party is the largest of it’s kind in Park City and will feature the best food, drink and music the town has to offer. Over 25 restaurants will be serving their specialities to over 2,500 participants, so be sure to get your seat before they’re all gone. This group is one of the few surviving group of reggae and roots originators that are still musically active today. The Wailing Souls got their start in the 60s playing in Jamaica alongside the genre’s legends, like Bob Marley and The Wailers.

Take part in the first ever Garnogi Festival this Saturday in Lehi. The festival will be full of events regarding outdoor activities, yoga, meditation, health and wellness, along with plenty to do with the kids. Events will run throughout the day Saturday. Be a part of a free, outdoor yoga class at The Gateway Fountain in downtown Salt Lake City. Whether you’re a yoga newbie or master of the art, this class is free and open for all who want to join. No tickets are required.
