Tired of trying to beat the heat? Join it with these fun outdoor activities in Northern Utah.

Don’t forget to be safe outside in the high temperatures.  

OGDEN RAPTORS VS MISSOULA OSPREY

What: Treat your family to America's favorite pastime and see the Ogden Raptors go head-to-head with the Missoula Osprey. On Saturday, the Raptors start a four-game home series against the Helena Brewers. 

When and where: 7-11 p.m. Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15; 4 p.m. Sunday, July 16. Lindquist Field, 2330 Lincoln Ave., Ogden. Tickets at http://bit.ly/2u9kT2P. $4-12. 

LAYTON FEST

What: Layton FEST kicks off with a carnival theme. This is an open-air market that brings together the best of Layton and Northern Utah. Each Friday night farmers, entertainment, shopping and food trucks come together in one beautiful location — Layton's Commons Park.

When and where: 5:30 p.m. to dusk, Friday, July 14; Layton Commons Park, 437 N. Wasatch Drive, Layton. 

WILDFLOWER TRAILFEST

What: The Wildflower Trailfest is a one-of-a-kind trail event for women. You can choose to participate in the Wildflower trail run or the Wildflower mountain bike race.

Registration includes an event T-shirt and a participation gift for everyone, as well a fun finish-line celebration with music, drinks, vendors, massages, yoga and a movie on the Wildflower meadow once it gets dark. 

When and where: 4-11 p.m. Friday, July 14; Snowbasin Resort, 3925 E. Snowbasin Road, Huntsville. 

RIVERDALE LES SCHWAB’S 4TH ANNUAL CHARITY CAR SHOW

What: Bring the whole family and grab a treat from Sghetti's Italian Ice or Cupbop Korean BBQ (available for purchase, while supplies last). Come admire the amazing cars on display; admission is free.

For those who wish to enter their car in the show, please bring new school supplies to donate to Riverdale Elementary. Donations are not required for attendees, but are welcomed!

When and where: 5-8 p.m. Friday, July 14; Les Schwab Tire Center, 627 W. Riverdale Road, Riverdale. 

2017 SUICIDE AWARENESS WALK

What: The Northern Box Elder County Suicide Prevention Coalition is hosting the 2017 Suicide Awareness Walk. Whether you’re remembering or supporting a loved one, recovering from hard times yourself or a supporter of the cause, join in this memorable event.

When and where: 7:30-9 p.m. Friday, July 14; Jeanie Stevens Park, 700 N. 1000 West, Tremonton.

FRIDAY PARK YOGA

What: The Good Seed Yoga Studio presents a donation-based yoga class. Enjoy the outdoors and sunset along with some relaxing yoga. 

When and where: 8-9 p.m. Friday, July 14; Lindsay Park, 300 W. Fishburn, Brigham City. 

OBON FESTIVAL

What: Ogden Buddhist Church’s Obon Festival commemorates one’s ancestors and features food, Taiko and Bon Odori. You can purchase a memorial lantern in the name of family or friends using this form

When and where: 4-9 p.m. Saturday, July 15; Ogden Buddhist Church, 155 North St., Ogden. 

INTRODUCTION TO MOUNTAIN BIKING

What: Learn trail etiquette, how to navigate rocks and roots, and improve your ability to climb hills. Whether you are brand new to trail-riding or want to improve your bike-handling skills, this clinic will increase your confidence on Snowbasin Resort’s mountain bike trails. It’s recommended that you feel comfortable riding a bicycle on pavement before taking this course. 

Bikes must be in good working order. Helmets are required. Mountain bikes and helmets are available to rent in the Grizzly Center at an additional fee. Come prepared for a mountain adventure; wear closed-toed shoes and sunscreen and bring a water bottle. All ages are welcome. Must have a 20'-inch wheel minimum.

When and where: 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15; Snowbasin Resort, 3925 E. Snowbasin Road, Huntsville. $25. 

WEBER COUNTY JR POSSE JAMBOREE

What: Watch members of the Weber County Jr Posse compete in water race, keyhole, poles, barrels, 4-in-a-row and speed barrels. 

When and where: 6 p.m. Saturday, July 15; Pioneer Stadium, 668 17th St. Ogden. $1-2.

2017 OGDEN UTAH NEPHCURE WALK

What: Each year, the NephCure Walks bring together patients, their families and friends, local businesses, and your community who create awareness and raise funds for critical research for FSGS and Nephrotic Syndrome. This success is only possible because of YOUR support, commitment and strength.

CLINTON HERITAGE DAYS

What: Celebrate Clinton City with arts, a carnival, vendor booths, games, a parade, entertainment, fireworks and more. 

When and where: 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, July 14 and 7 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15; Civic Center Park, 1651 W. 2300 North, Clinton. 

TREMONT FEST

What: Support local business in Tremonton with local vendors, food trucks and live music. Walk down Main Street and shop all the sidewalk sales. 

When and where: 5 - 9 p.m. Friday, July 14; Midland Square, Tremonton.
