There are two types of people in the world: Karaoke lovers and haters.
And this one’s for the folks willing to belt an obnoxious Journey ballad for a barroom full of strangers.
If you’re looking for a spot to sing karaoke in Ogden, there are quite a few options — and one for just about every night of the week.
Here’s a look at four karaoke bars to check out in Ogden. Know of one we should add to the list? Let us know by emailing email@example.com.
FUNK ‘N DIVE
When: Starts at about 9 p.m. Thursdays
Where: 2550 Washington Blvd., Ogden
More information: While you’re singing, you can chow down on a variety of appetizers, entrees and even vegan dishes at this downtown Ogden location. There’s a full bar, which has a casual feel to it. While you’re waiting for your turn to come around, you can play pool at the location or check out Harp ‘n Hound, a bar located upstairs that’s owned by the same people.
When: 9 p.m. Mondays and Fridays
Where: 2851 Washington Blvd., Ogden
More information: The Sand Trap might not look like much from the outside, but its cozy, dive bar atmosphere and cheap drinks make it a good place to sing some karaoke. There’s a large selection of songs to choose from, and if you stop by on Monday, there’s even a deal on food. A post on the business’ Facebook page says you can get a $5 steak dinner that comes with salad and fries. Otherwise, its menu includes basic appetizers, burgers, sandwiches and wings.
When: 9 pm. Tuesdays
Where: 244 25th St., Ogden
More information: Ever been the person in your group stuck at a karaoke bar when you don’t want to sing? Next time you’re in that situation, suggest Brewski’s to your friends. The bar offers plenty of things to do besides belt a tune — there’s pool, darts, shuffleboard and more, its website says. The location boasts classic bar food, for the most part. In addition to appetizers, Brewski’s has pizza, soup, salad, pizza and sandwiches.
When: 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays
Where: 2172 S. 1900 West, Ogden
More information: If you’re in the mood to get away from downtown Ogden, Roxy’s Pub is worth the trip. This is another bar that offers things to do in addition to karaoke. For example, non-singers can play pool or horseshoes, the business’ Facebook page says. It’s a casual bar that attracts a variety of people, including cowboys, bikers and other people looking to have a good time.
