ROY — Shauna Havey’s task was simple: submit a holiday recipe using Lucky Leaf pie filling.

The results are pretty sweet — Havey created a recipe for Holiday Peach Chai Shortcake, and now she could win $5,000.

The Roy woman was named one of 10 finalists in Lucky Leaf’s “Simple Holiday Treat” recipe contest. The finalists will now face off for votes on Facebook through Saturday, Dec. 17. You can vote in the competition at

Taking fan votes into consideration, Lucky Leaf judges will then select the grand prize winner, who will also have his or her recipe turned into a video. Each of the 10 finalists will receive a $250 Amazon gift card regardless of the results of the Facebook competition, and voters will be entered into a weekly sweepstakes to win a $50 gift card.

The nine other finalists come from across the country, including Texas, Florida and Ohio, and submitted recipes such as Chocolate Cherry Tropical Christmas Cakes, Lemon Banana Gingerbread and Apple Harvest Cheesecake.
