OGDEN —  A unique taste of Philadelphia is set to come to downtown Ogden.

Pepito’s Philly Cheesesteaks, located at 252 25th St., will open to customers June 1. This location is formerly the home of Scrud’s Gourmet Grub, which closed in February.

Pepito’s menu will be focused primarily on cheesesteaks, with a mix of classic tastes and new takes on the sandwich. Some of these creations include the inferno Philly, which will be infused with ghost cheese and house “inferno” sauce, and a bacon Philly, according to manager Sheree Yu.

Owner Miguel Hernandez said he has worked in many different types of restaurants, but he’s always wanted to open a Philly cheesesteak restaurant. He says that Pepito’s will be a family-focused eatery with a sports bar-type atmosphere.

The restaurant’s hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and closed Sundays, according to Hernandez.
