These are the best Northern Utah restaurants for chips, salsa and nachos

National Tortilla Chip Day is Saturday, Feb. 24, so the Standard-Examiner asked readers to tell us where they go for their favorite chips and salsa or nachos.

1. Bella’s Fresh Mexican Grill

“Bella’s Fresh Mexican Grill for the win!!” wrote Elijah Brandley. “They have salsas for everyone, wimpy or bold, with over 8 different salsas to choose from!”

Brandley also liked the gluten free options and the table-side guacamole.

Jodi Parker raved about the restaurant’s avocado cilantro salsa. “Yummmmmm!!” she wrote.

Patrice Jolly said, “I literally drank the avocado cilantro salsa at the end of my meal.”

2. El Matador

Rochelle King said not to forget the shredded cheese that diners add to their salsa at El Matador.

“El Matador in Ogden, particularly in spring and summer when the salsa seems brightest and freshest,” said Glenda Moore.

3. Javier’s Mexican Food

“They have three different kinds (of salsa),” said Stacie Simmons. “You can request all three.”

4. Slackwater Pub and Pizzeria

“Slackwater in Ogden has the BEST nachos! I literally crave them day or night,” wrote Kelly Hillhouse.

5. No Frills Diner

“No frills diner has Chile Verde breakfast nachos! Oh Em Geeeee!!! So delicious!” wrote Sonya Byers.

6. Sonora Grill

Cynthia Maher said this Sonor Grill had the best chips and red salsa. “I could make of meal of just that,” she said.

8. Patricia’s Restaurant

Hours: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 11 a,m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays; closed Sundays.

9. Carlos and Harley's Cantina

Address: 5510 E. 2200 North, Eden

10. Taco Taco
