6 Northern Utah high school football teams picked up for TV games in 2017

Six high school football teams from Northern Utah will play in TV games during the 2017 season, KJZZ and KMYU announced Thursday, Aug. 10.

Two games will take place on KJZZ TV’s “Thursday Night Lights” series: Jordan at Syracuse on Aug. 24, and Weber at Fremont on Oct. 5.

Two more will be played on KMYU TV’s “Friday Night Rivals” series: Fremont at Layton on Sept. 8, and Bountiful at Woods Cross on Sept. 29.

The season begins Thursday, Aug. 17, with a heavyweight battle between East and Timpview on KJZZ.

Northern Utah schools begin play Friday, Aug. 18, with 14 games scheduled throughout the area. The Standard-Examiner’s coverage that night will feature Syracuse at Roy, Judge Memorial at Ogden, American Fork at Weber, and Box Elder at Layton.
