WASHINGTON TERRACE — All Bonneville senior Kensie Price was trying to do with her corner kick in the final two minutes against Box Elder Tuesday was place it as close to the 6-yard box as possible.

How about in the back of the net?

Price scored on a perfectly bent corner kick and Bonneville won 1-0.

“I have never done that before,” Price said. “I don’t know what it was. I don’t know if it was adrenaline or what. It was my time.”

It’s been Price’s time for two straight matches now as Bonneville (9-0, 4-0 Region 5) continues to justify its championship potential. Last Thursday, she scored on a penalty kick to lift Bonneville to a 1-0 win at Highland.

Bonneville has won eight of its games by just one goal.

“We have the heart this year. That’s for sure,” Price said. “Everyone on this team truly does want to win, so I think that, yeah, maybe we only win by one point, but one point’s enough to win the game.”

Bonneville overcame a rough second half following the loss of Price’s sister, Hailey Price. Hailey Price, a defender, left the game near the end of the first half with a knee injury and didn’t return.

With Hailey Price out, Box Elder dominated possession throughout much of the second half.

“Second half, I think we started OK, but after a couple minutes (Box Elder) started pouring it on,” Bonneville coach Rob McDaniel said. “I don’t think we were more tired than they were, they just kind of took us out of our system.”

No system was required for what Kensie Price accomplished.
