BOYS SOCCER: Torena scores 4 goals as Syracuse beats Northridge

SYRACUSE — Augustin Torena found the back of the net four times as Syracuse defeated Northridge 4-1 on Thursday.

Ramon Aparicio and Ethan Harris tallied assists for Syracuse.

Manny Benitez scored the lone goal for the Knights.

BEAR RIVER 2, CEDAR 1 (OT)

DRAPER — Mario Ramirez scored the golden goal to lift the Bears to the overtime win.

Cole Croney scored the only goal in the first half to give Bear River a 1-0 lead at the break. The Redmen scored in the second half to force overtime.

The game was played on a neutral site at Juan Diego Catholic High School.

AMERICAN FORK 4, FREMONT 0

AMERICAN FORK — American Fork gashed the Silver Wolves defense early and often to hand Fremont the defeat.

The Cavemen took a 4-0 halftime lead but the Silver Wolves did not allow any goals in the second half.

DAVIS 1, GRANGER 0

KAYSVILLE — Jeremy Sommer scored the lone goal as the Darts opened Region 2 play with a victory.

Tanner Kennard earned the shutout for Davis. Joe Oldham assisted Sommer on the game-winning score.

VIEWMONT 0, LAYTON 0

BOUNTIFUL — Viewmont and Layton played to a scoreless draw.

Tyler Trump posted the shutout for the Vikings, while Sam Hunter got the shutout for the Lancers.

OGDEN 4, BEN LOMOND 0

OGDEN — At the halftime break, with the game tied 0-0, the Tigers changed their formation and exploded for four goals in the second stanza.

Ogden’s Jonathan Prado, JJ Nuniz, Jaxon Clarke and Jaime Nunez Sanchez each found the back of the net in the second half.

Hunter Clarke recorded the shutout against Ben Lomond.

MORGAN 2, PARK CITY 1

MORGAN — Kelden VanLeer and Cam Winn each scored as the Trojans beat Park City.

Morgan led 1-0 at the half.
