PREP SOFTBALL: Back-to-back-to-back homers fuel Weber past Northridge

PLEASANT VIEW — Aubrey Chartier, Baylee Blanchard and Ashlyn Tingey hit back-to-back-to-back homers in the bottom of the fourth and Weber went on to defeat Northridge 11-6 Monday.

The three homers gave Weber a 7-4 lead. The Warriors went on to add two runs in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Weber jumped out to a 4-0 lead with a pair of runs in each of the first two innings, but Northridge scored four in the top of the third to tie the game. The Knights added a run in each of the fifth and seventh innings.

Blanchard drove in three runs while Chartier and Tingey each drove in two.

Both teams struggled mightily in the field. Northridge committed eight errors while Weber committed seven.


PAYSON — Bountiful started a busy week of games with a victory over Payson.

Bountiful took a 2-0 lead in the second inning and never trailed.

Analee Moore hit a two-run homer, Libbie Hawker doubled and McHailee Danner pitched a complete game.

Bountiful has seven more games scheduled for this week, including four in the second annual Davis County Invitational Saturday.


MORGAN — McKenzie Logsdon went 4 for 4 and was one of four Morgan players to record a multi-hit game as the Trojans cruised to victory.

Brooke Loertscher and Baylee Loertscher each tripled and collected two hits, and Karly Peterson went 2 for 4 with three RBIs.

Megan Durrant pitched five innings and allowed three earned runs for Morgan.

The Trojans fell behind 3-0 in the first inning but scored the next nine runs of the game to seize control. South Summit cut Morgan’s lead in half with three runs in the fourth, but the Trojans didn’t allow any more runs and scored five in the fifth.


BOUNTIFUL — Viewmont dropped its seventh straight game.
