PREP SOFTBALL: Roy explodes for 8-run 10th to defeat Weber; roundup

PLEASANT VIEW — Roy scored eight runs in the top of the 10th and blasted Weber 10-3 in a game resumed from Tuesday.

The game was tied 2-2 after nine innings when it was suspended due to weather.

Four Weber errors in the 10th helped give Roy a 6-2 lead, and Ana Palmer broke the game open with a three-run double.

Whisper Doliwa followed up Palmer’s double with an RBI double.

Brooklyn Blackwell hit an RBI single for Weber in the bottom of the 10th.

BOX ELDER 7, SKY VIEW 4

SMITHFIELD — Maycen O’Neal blasted a pair of homers, including a three-run homer that broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the seventh, and Box Elder survived for its 10th straight win.

All but one of the runs was scored via home run. Taylor Sorenson hit a two-run home run for Box Elder while Courtney Stuart and Maddy Markworth homered for Sky View.

Markworth’s homer, a three-run shot, tied the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth.

RIDGELINE 5, BONNEVILLE 2

WASHINGTON TERRACE — Mailee Jensen followed her shutout of Bear River with a complete-game victory over Bonneville.

Jensen allowed eight hits, walked one and struck out four.

Mya Washington went 3 for 4 with a double and three RBIs, and Lyndsey Anderson went 3 for 5 for Ridgeline.

For Bonneville, Sadie Westmoreland went 2 for 4 while Lexie Sulkey drove in the Lakers’ only runs of the game.

BOUNTIFUL at OLYMPUS (PPD)

HOLLADAY — The softball game between Bountiful and Olympus was postponed due to weather. A make-up date has yet to be determined.

BOYS SOCCER

LAYTON CHRISTIAN 3, SOUTH SUMMIT 2

LAYTON — Layton Christian scored twice in the second half and edged South Summit.

Christians Gutierrez, Sebastian Oliver and Antoni Rosell each scored for the Eagles.

The game was tied 1-1 at halftime.

ST. JOSEPH at WENDOVER (FORFEIT)

WENDOVER — The boys soccer game between St. Joseph and Wendover was not played because Wendover did not have enough players.

St. Joseph was awarded the victory by forfeit.
