Prep Roundup: Hadley leads Fremont baseball to win over Box Elder

FREMONT 7, BOX ELDER 5

BRIGHAM CITY — Cade Hadley hit a home run and picked up a save on the mound as Fremont baseball notched a close win Thursday at Box Elder.

The Bees went ahead 2-0 after the first inning before the Silver Wolves responded with two runs of their own in the second.

Fremont put up three more runs in the fourth and Box Elder responded with two in the fifth, but didn’t have enough to stage a comeback.

Sage Wayment got the win on the mound for Fremont, which got doubles from Drake Grange, Brayden Clark, Lex Peterson and Sam Stratford.

Porter Cochran went 1 for 3 with two RBIs for Box Elder, while Bryan Ramirez had a 3 for 4 day.

BISHOP GORMAN 6, CLEARFIELD 2

LAS VEGAS — Bishop Gorman went ahead 2-0 after the first inning and added three runs in the third as the Gaels beat Clearfield in Las Vegas. The Falcons scored a run in the top of the third and a run in the sixth.

DAVIS 11, JOHN GLENN-CA 5

LAS VEGAS — Zach Hoskins and Zach Mansfield each went 3 for 4 with three RBIs as Davis knocked off John Glenn (California) at the Bishop Gorman Desert Classic in Las Vegas.

Cody Christensen pitched six innings and picked up the win for the Darts.

OLYMPUS 5, BEAR RIVER 1

SALT LAKE CITY — Olympus pounded 12 hits as the Titans beat Bear River. The Bears scored their lone run in the fifth inning from a Parker Coombs RBI.

EAST 9, MORGAN 2

MORGAN — Morgan took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but East scored six runs in the fifth en route to a big win over the Trojans. Morgan scored a run in the bottom of the seventh and totaled five hits.
