LAYTON — Davis (18-6, 14-4 Region 1) claimed the outright Region 1 championship with a dramatic 10-9 win against Northridge (10-11, 7-8) in extra innings Friday.
Parker Jensen hit 4 for 5 with three RBIs and a double. Stockton Hall batted 3 for 5 with three RBIs. Zack Mansfield and Brighton Cooper also drove in two runs for Davis.
Ryker Kap went 3 for 3 with a triple, a home run and an RBI for Northridge. Drew West batted 2 for 4 with two RBIs while Scott Daybell also drove in two runs.
Davis led 4-1 heading to the bottom of the third where Northridge scored four runs to take a 5-4 lead.
Trailing 9-8, Northridge scored in the bottom of the seventh to send the game to extra innings where Davis won it.

LAYTON 7, CLEARFIELD 2
CLEARFIELD — Layton scored six runs in the first inning to hand Clearfield a loss.
Riley Hill, Drew Ferneau and Griffin Hall each drove in two runs for Layton (10-12, 6-9 Region 1). Hall and Micah Del Rio both had two hits and Ferneau doubled for Layton.
Taylor Sato and Ethan Giacalone doubled for Clearfield (11-10, 9-6), who can clinch the Region 1 No. 2 seed in the state playoffs with a win next Tuesday.
Cam Day was the winning pitcher while Cade Parry took the loss. The Lancers are now tied for fourth place in the region with Fremont.
FREMONT 4, ROY 3
PLAIN CITY — Fremont scored in the bottom of the seventh to claim a walk-off win over Roy in non-region action.
Roy scored three runs in the first inning but Fremont tied the game 3-3 in the bottom of the second.
Lex Peterson and Jack Dayton doubled for Fremont (10-12, 5-9 Region 1). Sage Wayment got the win.
Jaxson Dart and Brody Perkes each hit doubles for Roy (7-19, 3-6 Region 5) and Wyatt Richards took the loss.
WOODS CROSS 14, BOX ELDER 11
BRIGHAM CITY — Woods Cross scored six runs in the third to break an 8-8 tie and claim a region road win at Box Elder.
Calum Seifert and Hunter Stone each went 3 for 4 Woods Cross (7-16, 3-6 Region 5). Seifert had a double and four RBIs. Jaxon Gines hit a two-run triple. Matt Peay went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
Conner Stevenson hit a home run and drove in two for Box Elder (11-11, 5-4). Porter Cochran hit 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored.
VIEWMONT 19, BOUNTIFUL 8
BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful (7-19, 2-7 Region 5) took a 5-2 lead after one inning, but Viewmont (14-6, 11-1) responded with 11 straight runs to take the region contest.
PARK CITY 6, OGDEN 0
PARK CITY — Ogden (10-14, 7-10 Region 11) was shut out at Park City (19-6, 16-2) as the Miners tightened their grip on the region title.
JUAN DIEGO 22, BEN LOMOND 2
OGDEN — Ben Lomond (2-19, 0-18 Region 11) trailed 1-0 after the first inning, then Juan Diego (18-5, 16-1) poured on the offense to take the region road win in six innings.
BONNEVILLE 8, STANSBURY 4
STANSBURY PARK — Bonneville (7-15, 6-11 Region 11) scored four runs in the second inning to take a 4-2 lead, then added two runs in each of the fourth and sixth innings to grab a region road win at Stansbury (7-16, 6-11).
BEAR RIVER 7, LOGAN 2
LOGAN — Bear River jumped to a 4-0 lead after three innings and completed a season sweep of Logan.
The five batters at the top of the Bear River (17-8, 11-4 Region 12) lineup each had two hits: Wyatt Roholt, Braxton Jeppsen, Jake Dahle, Kaygen Canfield and Makayden Kent. Roholt tripled while Jeppsen, Dahle (twice) and Kent each hit doubles. Parker Coombs drove in two runs.
Logan (2-24, 1-13) got a home run from Kyle Truex.
CLEARFIELD 12, ROY 1
ROY — Clearfield scored five runs in the second inning to take control in a non-region win at Roy.
Jayci Finch paced Clearfield (14-7, 6-5 Region 1), picking up the win on the mound while batting 3 for 4 with a two-run home run and four RBIs. Rachael Brown added a two-run bomb and Macy Benincosa went 2 for 4 with a double and three runs scored.
Roy (13-10, 7-3 Region 5) scored its lone run in the seventh inning. Karli Jamison and Kayla Webb each went 2 for 3 and Maysa Averett took the loss.
BEAR RIVER 5, BOX ELDER 4
GARLAND — With Bear River trailing 4-3 and two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, freshman Oaklie Maxfield doubled into the right field corner and drove in two to give Bear River a walk-off win over cross-county rival Box Elder.
Box Elder trailed 3-2 going into the seventh but scored twice to take the lead, setting up Maxfield’s heroics.
Mercedes Call hit an RBI triple and scored two runs for Bear River (24-5, 9-1 Region 12), including the game-winner. Josi Larkin hit 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored. Kapri Toone pitched a complete game for the win.
Brylee Marziale went 2 for 4 with a solo home run to pace Box Elder (18-5, 8-2 Region 5). Kallie Bair had two bunt singles and scored a run. Sydnie Blacker hit 2 for 4 with one run scored.
Nyah DeRyke started the game on the mound for BoxElder, and had an RBI single that put Box Elder ahead in the seventh. Marziale relieved De Ryke in the sixth and was tagged with the loss.
VIEWMONT 3, BOUNTIFUL 1
BOUNTIFUL — Nic Wood and Preston Pitt scored goals as Viewmont (6-5-3, 3-3-1 Region 5) defeated crosstown rival Bountiful (0-11-3, 0-5-1) and secured a spot in the 5A state playoffs. The Vikings’ third goal was an own goal by Bountiful.
BOX ELDER 3, WOODS CROSS 1
WOODS CROSS — Isaac Wayment, Ronnie Smith and Mitchell Pyle scored as Box Elder (12-1-1, 6-0 Region 5) clinched at least a share of the Region 5 championship with a win at Woods Cross (7-7-1, 2-5).
Junior Ortiz netted for the Wildcats.
