We had another shooting at one our public schools. Several of our young kids were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. How can we keep allowing these senseless murders? Gun violence is happening so often, it is almost daily news. Is it becoming acceptable? Since the Columbine shooting, in Colorado, in 1999, there have been 29 of these horrific killings involving our nation’s schools.
Something is terribly wrong here in America. Statistics tell us that 92 percent of all the young people between the ages of 15 and 24 killed by guns were in the U.S. Americans are 10 times more likely to be killed by guns than people in other high-income countries.
I wonder if there is any kind of gun control that could help us. Probably not. It seems to be to late for that. The National Rifle Association has become way too powerful and has bought way many of our elected officials.
However, our fine president has presented us with a solution to all of this: more guns.
