Utah Republicans, right-wing media would've held Obama to a different standard

There’s no denying this. The heads of Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh and most Utah Republicans would have been exploding upon learning President Obama had begun an adulterous relationship with a porn star shortly after Michelle gave birth to their daughter, then paid the woman $130,000 to keep her mouth shut.

The vitriol would have intensified when it was discovered that he also had a nine-month tryst with a Playboy playmate. She kept a diary of their affair and sold the exclusive rights to her story to the National Enquirer for $150,000. The tabloid’s editor was, however, a personal friend of Obama so the story never saw the light of day. Fox News (also known as Trump TV) would have been absolutely ecstatic.

But then, we’re not really talking about Barack Obama here. No, these extramarital exploits were the work of the man who succeeded him as president, Donald Trump. And out of Fox News? Not a peep.

I’m heartsick about what’s happened to the presidency. I have friends who can’t sleep at night worrying about it. We’re all missing that decent, highly intelligent and classy family man who, in eight years, brought only respectability to the White House.
