House fire closes part of Wall Avenue

OGDEN — A house fire broke out in a basement on Monday afternoon, displacing several people.

Firefighters from Ogden and Northview responded to the home near 200 North and Wall Avenue which was emitting heavy smoke from the basement, firefighters on scene said.

Traffic was closed in both directions between 150 North and 250 North so firefighters could access the nearest hydrant, which was across the road from the home.

Crews were able to isolate the fire to one room and put it out, although the rest of the home received smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators are determining the cause of the fire.

The home was rendered uninhabitable due to damage and five residents were displaced. 

The Red Cross was dispatched to assist the displaced residents find temporary accommodations.
