OGDENMovieGrile, Ogden’s dine-in movie theater, recently closed and will reopen under new owners, according to an announcement on social media made this week.

“The decision was made to turn the company over to new owners local to Ogden who will be renovating and reopening as Red Carpet Cinema Pub,” according to a post on MovieGrille’s Facebook page

The new theater will serve beer, wine and specialty cocktails, according to the post.

The theaters are also being renovated, the menu is being updated and a “high end acoustic music lounge” is being built. Red Carpet Cinema Pub says it will remain family-friendly.

Red Carpet Cinema Pub’s owners are hoping to open by mid-November, according to the post.

MovieGrille released a new menu and lowered its ticket prices last November.

According to a comment from MovieGrille in the Facebook post, “ticket prices will go up from the $3 but will still be very reasonable for the kind of atmosphere you will get.”

When MovieGrille made the announcement, many in the community were concerned they wouldn’t be able to use MovieGrille coupons or gift certificates at the new theater. MovieGrille responded saying Red Carpet Cinema Pub would honor them for a limited time after opening.

The theater is located at 2293 Grant Ave.
