OGDEN — A Mountain Green cancer patient is hitting the runway this weekend at New York Fashion Week

Darla Rodgers, 52, has terminal colon and liver cancer, but she isn’t letting that stop her from living her best life.

Rodgers will be a model in a New York Fashion Week show called “Surviving in Fashion,” a showcase of cancer survivors at the SMGlobal Catwalk. Designer Dalia MacPhee created the gowns for the show.

“They donate all these gowns to Stage 4 survivors who do the show,” Rodgers said. “I will be a little princess for a day.”

The “Surviving in Fashion” show will take place from 6-9 p.m. (ET) Saturday, Feb. 11.

Rodgers is one of 20 cancer patients from across the country representing Say Yes to Hope, a nonprofit that raises funds for and provides information, resources and support to cancer victims.

“When you see us dress up ... it shows that you are truly living with cancer and not dying from it,” said Suzanne Lindley, co-founder of Say Yes to Hope and a terminal cancer patient.
