Smith & Edwards has been known by many names over the past 70 years, but one thing that’s remained consistent? This store has a unique mix of everything you could ever need — if you can find it.
The popular Northern Utah store, which is celebrating its 70th anniversary in July, began in 1947 when Bert Smith and Lawrence Edwards began selling U.S. military surplus out of Bert's backyard in West Ogden, the business’ website says.
Then in the mid 1950s, Smith purchased a 60-acre plot of land in Farr West, where the family-owned business has remained ever since.
Today, Smith & Edwards is three generations strong, as Bert Smith's children and grandchildren continue to work for the business.
