OGDEN — Hundreds of horses will trot through downtown Ogden next week for the annual Horse and Hitch Parade.

The parade, which is part of the Ogden Pioneer Days celebration, begins at 7 p.m. Monday, July 17. Along with horses of every breed and color, the parade will also highlight painted wagons and carriages.

Horse and Hitch coordinator Tracy Smith said 500 to 600 horses and carts have registered for this year’s parade and more registrations are still coming in.

The parade route will go down Washington Boulevard to Historic 25th Street, turn north on Grant Avenue before turning east on 23rd Street and heading back on Washington toward the arena, Smith said.
