OGDEN — Two Ogden churches are holding vigils where the community can mourn those killed in Sunday’s mass shooting in Las Vegas.

Unitarian Universalist Church of Ogden and Congregational United Church of Christ both announced on Facebook they’ll be holding vigils Tuesday. The events’ details are included below.

We’re looking for information about other vigils being held around the area — if you know of one, contact us at and we’ll add it to this story.

The vigils come after a shooter opened fire on a music festival crowd Sunday night, killing at least 59 people and injuring 527 people, according to a Tuesday morning ABC News report. It’s the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history, ABC reports.

Time and date: 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3

Location: Unitarian Universalist Church of Ogden, 705 23rd St., Ogden

Description: The vigil will offer locals a space to mourn the shooting victims and simply be together, its Facebook event page says. All are welcome to come pray and reflect, it says.
