OGDEN — Even though the holidays are a few months away, Ogden got a little taste of the season today.

Christmas Village released its official opening date on its Facebook page Wednesday morning. As per usual, it will open the Saturday following Thanksgiving.

Ogden’s Christmas Village will open to the public Nov. 25, a post on organizers’ Facebook page says. The Electric Light Parade will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and a new, short ceremony featuring a cast of Christmas characters, the event’s Make a Wish child and Santa will be held immediately afterward.

The village’s lights will be turned on at 6:30 p.m., the Facebook post says. Fireworks will be set off after the event as well.

Christmas Village — a large display of Christmas lights, decorations and holiday-themed cottages — is located at 343 25th St. in Ogden. The Electric Light Parade usually runs down Washington Boulevard from 22nd Street to 26th Street, according to the city’s website.

Christmas Village will be open until Jan. 1, according to the Facebook post.
