Steven Hendricks, left, the Director of Bands at Davis High School, and Wesley Whatley, the Creative Director for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, unveil the drum head for the 2017 parade at Davis High School on Monday, April 11, 2016. Hendricks knew that the band had been selected, but none of the students or other band staff found out until Monday morning.

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, which means the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is close at hand.

Those in Northern Utah have a special connection to the parade, as the Davis High School marching band will take center stage as one of the parade’s performers. The announcement was made to students and the public all the way back in April 2016.

For those looking to catch this year’s parade, a few options are available.

The parade will be shown on NBC and will start at 9 a.m. in every time zone. Utah’s NBC affiliate is KSL-TV channel 5. To watch it for free online, go to Youtube or log in and watch it via the NBC tablet and phone app. For anyone with a cable subscription login, the parade will be available online on NBC’s website.

In addition to the Davis High School Marching Band, a number of well-known performing artists will be featured during this year’s parade.

Performers for this year’s parade include Gwen Stefani, 98 Degrees, Sara Evans, Dustin Lynch and many more. Marching bands and performance groups from across the country will also perform at the New York City parade.
