Local, national average gas prices highest since 2015

The national average gas price is the highest it’s been since July 2015, according to a news release from GasBuddy.

Locally, average gas prices speak to the same trend. Compared to other states, Utah has the seventh highest average gas price, reaching $2.913 per gallon on Thursday.

According to data from GasBuddy, the U.S. average on Thursday reached $2.701 per gallon of regular gasoline. That’s 17.9 cents higher than it was a month ago on March 13.

GasBuddy data for the Ogden metro area (which includes Weber, Davis, Box Elder and Morgan counties) shows that the current local average gas price is 14.4 cents higher than last week’s average and 51.9 cents higher than last month’s average. 

The following are average prices per gallon of regular gasoline by county, as of Thursday, April 12.

• Weber County — $2.889

• Davis County — $2.912

• Box Elder County — $2.904

• Morgan County — $2.900
