OGDEN - Roger D. Holstein, 67, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, left this life on August 2, 2014 on a journey to set up his camp at a better fishing hole. He died peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Roger was born on September 14, 1946 to his parents, Robert D. and Norma J. Holstein in Ogden, Utah. He grew up sharing his heritage of Hawaiian Hospitality and was never far from family, good music and good food. He graduated from Ogden High School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving six honorable years in the United States Navy which included two deployments to Vietnam. He worked the remainder of his career at Hercules and Alliant Tech Systems in Clearfield, Utah as an engineering technician and was awarded full credit for two national engineering patents during his tenure.

He could fix anything, he was practical, resourceful and valued being self-sustainable, all hobbies and qualities he heartily passed down to younger generations.
