HOOPER/WEST HAVEN - Connie Doyle Chambers, 92, passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Peachtree Place Assisted Living.
He was born March 13, 1922 in Aisville, Stevens, Georgia to Austin and India Mary Pressley Chambers.
He married Dorothy Elaine Hermansen on July 4, 1962 in Elko, Nevada. Dorothy passed away December 13, 2005.
Connie attended Habersham County Schools in Georgia.
He enjoyed construction, auto and small engine repair, and gardening.
He loved water fights. He was always teasing and playing practical jokes. He was a good story teller and always willing to serve.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He converted in 1999, graduating from the LDS Institute of Religion in Ogden. In 2008 he was ordained a High Priest-Melchizedek Priesthood.
Surviving are his children: Shelley (Kurt) Coroles of Hooper, UT; Janice (DeLyle) Flack of Pleasant Grove, UT; Gail Vandenbroeck of Round Rock, TX; 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Connie will be missed especially by his cat Kitty.
Preceded in death by Connies Eternal wife, his parents, and the majority of his brothers and sisters.
Special thanks to hospice nurse, Belinda Adolssen; Aspire Hospice; his daughter, Shelley and his grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Perpetual Education Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 East North Temple St., Salt Lake City, Utah 84150.
