June 21, 1989 ~ June 14, 2017
Meg DeYoung Bostwick, age 27, a beautiful, nurturing, and courageous wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, returned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. She died of complications from a brain tumor. Her last selfless and loving act was giving life to a beautiful baby daughter just hours before her passing.
Meg was born June 21, 1989, in Ogden, Utah, to Michael Jon and Susan Smith DeYoung. She lived and went to school in the same neighborhood all her life, graduating from Ogden High School in 2007. Meg graduated with her RN and BSN degrees from Weber State University, and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Utah in 2015, all with honors.
Meg married her eternal sweetheart, John Scott Bostwick, on October 9, 2009, in the Logan Temple. They are the parents of two beautiful daughters, Nora Jean and Kennedy Meg. Together they are a light on a hill and accomplished many goals working together and complementing one another.
Meg was a brilliant, kind, and extraordinary nurse. She worked as a CNA at Pine View Transitional Rehab, as an RN at Ogden Regional Medical Center, and as an NP at the Anti-Coagulation Clinic at McKay-Dee Hospital. She was currently working as a Nurse Practitioner in the Logan Cancer Clinic at Logan Regional Hospital. She loved her colleagues, fellow nurses, and patients everywhere she worked.
Meg had many hobbies and interests. Among those were reading, quilting, golf, traveling, and a good movie with a coke. She never met a nap and blanket she didn't like. Meg loved music and was an accomplished pianist and played the French horn. She was the Sterling Scholar in music at Ogden High School. She loved her Great Danes, Cleo and London.
Of all her accomplishments, Meg's family was her greatest. She devoted herself and her talents loving and serving her husband and children. This was an extension of her faithful testimony of Jesus Christ and His restored gospel.
Meg is survived by her loving husband, Scott; her daughters, Nora and Kennedy; her parents, Michael and Susan; her brothers, Christian (Sarah) and Marc (Hannah); and her other set of parents, Virgil and Harriet Bostwick of Preston, Idaho. Meg is loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her life was filled with happy memories of time spent with family and friends.
The family would like to thank the caring staff at IMC who served Meg with compassion.
