Claudette Chesnut, age 72, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, in the Harrison Point Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Ogden, Utah. She died from complication from surgery. She was born to James and Zenetta (Julander) Holgate. She was the fourth youngest of 12 children.
Claudette married her high school sweetheart, Kip L. Chesnut after graduation; during their marriage they had 11 children. They went their separate ways after 28 years of marriage. She received an associate degree as a Surgical Technician. She had a passion for crocheting; she enjoyed making Afghans, baby blankets and a variety of other crocheted items. She loved to make incredible breads and collect dolls. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, dogs and the LDS Church.
Claudette was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters; also her son, Berry R. Chesnut; her grandson, Robert L. Crites; and her granddaughter, Krystal Z. Jones.
Claudette will be remembered as a bright shining light in her children, 35 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren lives.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. The family will greet friends and acquaintances from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day, with the burial following the services, at Lindquist Memorial Park, 1867 North Fairfield Rd, Layton Utah.
