William Junior Grey, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at George E Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home. He was surrounded by his closest family members as he departed and will be missed by family and friends.
William (Bill) was born in Langdon, North Dakota on December 28, 1934 ,son of William Ernest Gray and Leala Irene (Nelson) Gray. He lived there until he was three years old, with his parents. Then the little family of three moved to a small dairy farm house in Shevlin, Minnesota, where his family grew into four more brothers and two sisters. When Bill was 17 just two and a half weeks before his 18th birthday, he decided to join the United States Air Force. He was known as a hard worker, he served for almost 35 years in the United States Air Force and Hill Air Force Base Civilian Service. In the Air Force, Bill was stationed in Germany twice, France once and was released with honorable service.
Bill was married to his wife, Nancy, on December 10, 1982. They were married for almost 29 years until she passed away in August 2011. He loved gardening, fishing, vacationing, collecting model cars, watching football, old westerns, mystery shows on television and his cats (Tasha 1 and Tasha 2), and socializing with family and friends.
Bill is survived by his children: Christy Trujillo (Mike), Teresa McBride (Mike), and Brian Grey (Kristy), Randy Stulce and Lori Ann Jensen. Bill is also survived by his three brothers and two sisters: Dale Gray (Annette), Maxine Perrin (Charles), Roger Gray (Donna), Danny Gray (Ann), Sally Olson, Thomas Gray along with 20 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; parents, William and Leala; daughter, Melinda; sister-in-law Jayne; and stepson, Timothy.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Myers Layton Mortuary, 250 North Fairfield Road Layton, Utah. A viewing will be held for family and close friends on the evening of Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 6 to 8 pm and Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to the funeral services at the mortuary.
Interment will be at Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, South Ogden, Utah following the memorial services.
