Saturday, Hansen provided the jumpstart to Ogden’s offense and the Raptors battered the Billings Mustangs 15-6 at Lindquist Field.
With the game tied 1-1 in the second inning, Brayan Morales drew a two-out walk and scored on a Hansen triple. Rylan Bannon singled Hansen home for a 3-1 lead, and Ogden (7-4, 30-19) wouldn’t look back.
In the next inning, Hansen knocked a two-RBI double to cap a four-run inning and give Ogden a 7-2 lead.
His teammates continued the hit parade the rest of the night. The Raptors scored two in the fourth inning, two in the fifth, and four more in the seventh to take a 15-6 lead.
Bannon homered to start the scoring in the seventh, a 438-foot shot, while Gersel Pitre drove in two with a double.
When the dust settled, Ogden finished with 19 hits, tied for the team’s season high.
Bannon, who recently returned to action after sitting two weeks with an injury, totaled four hits on the night, upping his season average to .403.
Romer Cuadrado finished 3 for 5 at the plate, while Hansen, Pitre, Tyler Adkison and Garrett Hope all added two hits.
Only three of Billings’ (4-6, 22-25) six runs were earned and Ogden pitchers racked up 15 strikeouts. Francis Cespedes (4-0) picked up the win, giving up one run and striking out three in the fifth inning.
Adalberto Pena started on the mound for Ogden, giving up two runs and eight hits in four innings, striking out six.
A crowd of 4,261 was on hand to see the Raptors stretch their win streak to three games. Ogden has won 17 of its last 23 and reached 30 wins in the fewest games since 2009.
The Raptors and Mustangs conclude their season series at 4 p.m. Sunday before Ogden welcomes Great Falls for a four-game set.
