5 hurt in rollover on Ogden's 12th Street

OGDEN — Five people were transported to an area hospital Saturday after a rollover accident on 12th Street.

The accident occurred just before noon at 400 W. 12th St., right in front of the No Frills Diner, leaving a white, four-door SUV turned over on its top. The SUV was travelling in the eastbound lane and rolled into an empty field next to the diner.

Ogden Police Lt. Danielle Croyle said a driver in another car was ticketed in the accident and five occupants in the SUV were taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries.

The accident and subsequent clean-up caused traffic to back up for several blocks in both the east- and westbound lanes of 12th Street.
