OGDEN — An Ogden couple has been booked in jail on charges of child abuse homicide, according to a press release from the Ogden Police Department.

Miller Costello, 25, and Brenda Emile, 22, were each booked Friday morning, July 7, on one charge of child abuse homicide.

On Thursday, July 6, police responded to a 911 call about a 3-year-old who was unconscious and not breathing.

When officers arrived, they found the child, Angelina Costello, dead, the release says. There was evidence of “abusive trauma,” according to police.

Police then took Miller Costello and Brenda Emile into custody. The release says the two are Angelina’s biological parents.

Police and the Utah Division of Child and Family Services later removed an older and a younger sibling from the home.

The family has only lived in Ogden for only a short amount of time, the release says.

Costello and Emile are being held at Weber County Jail without bail.

The investigation into the child’s death is active and ongoing. Anyone with additional information can contact Detective Lewis with the Ogden Police Department at 801-629-8438.
