BOUNTIFUL — Police are on the look out for a suspect who brandished a handgun and demanded money from a McDonald’s in Bountiful.

Around 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, police say a man walked into the restaurant at 490 S. 500 West in Bountiful, according to a press release from the Bountiful Police Department.

The man was in the store for at least 20 minutes before he approached the front counter, brandished a black semiautomatic handgun and demanded money from a worker, the release said

The release did not disclose if the suspect was given any money or how much money he received.

The suspect then fled on foot and was not located immediately following the robbery, the release said.

At the time of the robbery, the man was wearing a brown Carhartt jacket, a dark camouflage hat and a neck gaiter that he pulled up over his face.

Bountiful Police also released security footage from inside the restaurant that shows the suspect walking around before he approaches the counter.

Another video shows the suspect approaching the counter, showing the weapon and leaving with a bag, presumably filled with money.

If you or someone you know have any information regarding the robbery or the identity of the suspect, please contact detectives at the Bountiful Police Department at 801-298-6000.
