Police confirm discovered remains near Logan are that of missing Wyoming man

LOGAN — Cache County officials said remains found near Providence City are those of a 19-year-old Lovell, Wyoming, man who has been missing since November. 

The body was confirmed Tuesday to be the remains of Kyle Ryan Burton, who was reported missing on Nov. 28, 2017, according to a press release from Lt. Brian Locke of the Cache County Sheriff’s Department.

Burton’s body was found in the foothills above Providence City, according to the release. The search that yielded his body was conducted by friends, family and local volunteers, the release says.

Burton was last seen leaving a River Heights home where he was staying with family. He had been staying in the city for roughly three weeks before he went missing. 

At the time of his disappearance, Burton was on foot and did not have a coat or phone. 

Police performed a reverse 911 call asking for help to locate Burton shortly after his disappearance. Burton’s family also searched for him using their horses and outdoor equipment, according to previous Standard-Examiner reporting

Locke thanked volunteers who helped in searching for Burton and offered condolences to friends and family.
