Double fatal accident in Willard

WILLARD — Two people died after the vehicle they were in was broadsided by a truck Saturday evening.

A 15-year-old boy from Salt Lake County and a 66-year-old woman from Box Elder County were driving near 750 North and Main Street around 5:30 p.m., when a 2006 Toyota Tundra hit their vehicle, according to a news release from the Box Elder County Sheriff’s office.

The teen and woman were pronounced dead on the scene, according to the release.

The 31-year-old driver of the Tundra was taken to Brigham City Community Hospital for minor injuries, but was later released.

Police say the crash is under investigation and is expected to be forwarded to the Box Elder County Attorney’s Office so prosecutors can screen it for possible charges.
